Sara Bareilles landed the biggest surprise of the night with an Album of the Year nomination.
Also... Daft Punk, Lorde and Kendrick Lamar did good. The other big news was that Justin Timberlake, thought to be a sure thing in the major categories, was shut out of the big four.
Timberlake did score seven nominations, however, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Kendrick Lamar. Jay Z led everyone with nine nominations.
Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Robin Thicke and other big names performed. However, the nominations were front and center with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis coming up huge with nominations in three of the four big categories. It's an amazing achievement for an album the duo put out independently.
