When Katy met Kylie: pop stars go head to head

KATY Perry was crowned Woman of the Year at the 2014 Elle Style Awards, held in London last night.

And in a bit of pop star baton-passing, the 29-year-old Roar singer was handed her award by none other than Australia’s own Kylie Minogue. The pair also posed for pictures together on the red carpet.

Other winners at the event include Lily Allen for Female UK Recording Artist, Tinie Tempah for Male Uk Recording Artist and expert hat-wearer Pharrell Williams for International Recording Artist.



Perry’s latest video, for the single Dark Horse, is set to drop tomorrow. Meanwhile Kylie Minogue fans eager for a taste of her upcoming album Kiss Me Once don’t have to wait until its release date next month — she’s popped an album sampler online, featuring clips of all 11 tracks.  Pharrell fans, pay special attention to track three, I Was Gonna Cancel. It’s written and produced by the Blurred Lines hitmaker.
